Hankook with a "K"

Last week, I changed the tires of my Ford Everest from Bridgestone to Hankook. Hankook? I know for some of us, this brand is still unknown but in the world of 4 x 4 and motorsports, this brand is starting to make a name of its own.

"Hankook" means "Korea" in Korean. Currently, Hankook is the eight largest tire company in the world. Established in 1941 as the Chosun Tire Company, it was renamed to Hankook Tire Manufacturing in 1968.

Hankook tires are known worldwide due to its radial tire and bias-ply tire production.

The company supplies tires to Hyundai Motor Company, Toyota Motor Corporation, Ford Motor Company and General Motors. They also supplied tires from 2007 - 2009 for IMSA Lites, a support series for the American Le Mans Series.

By the way, I got the Hankook Dynapro ATm RF10 tire for my SUV, the latest all terrain tire of the company, which the Four Wheeler Magazine described as a very capable tire in terms of road racing and trail rides.

According to the magazine, Dynapro tires stuck extremely well to the road and offered a quiet ride.

Rocks, dirt of most any kind, and other common trail ingredients were easily tackled with RF10 as the tire provided very good traction both laterally and in basic forward motion. With decent tread arch, the Dynapro also works well in sand.

I am no tire expert but I agree with what the Four Wheeler Magazine observed above on Dynapro tires because I also observed that the suspensions of my vehicle are much better now compared before and it also runs smoother.

So guys, if you're looking for a gift on your birthday, Hankook tire would be a good choice. Hehehe!
